Thank you to all players, umpires, staff, contributors and spectators for a great first tournament of the year under Willow Bend Polo Club’s re-launch. The rains held off for all 3 games and much fun was had by all indications. Icon Global/BarZ emerged as the Mother’s Day champions with back to back overtime wins! Congratulations to Bernie Uechtritz – Lindor Novillo – Lucio Chavez – Barry Zindel

Icon.Global Polo wins Willow Bend Polo Club – Mother’s Day Cup, 6 Goal finals – 8 goals to 7 -in overtime narrowly beating out Palo Pinto/ Blue Dogs. A very strong combination of players including Robert Payne, Wyatt Muir, Alan Custard and Steve Gilchrest. Going goal for goal after a very tough scoreless first chukka, the 2 teams were hard at it in a bruising match up until the closing moments and the game went into overtime on Payne’s goal in the last seconds of the final chukka to even the score. Uechtritz, Novillo, Chaves and Zindel rallied and dug deep in a see saw sudden death overtime with a brilliant and spectacular runaway goal by Novillo to put Icon.Global on top!
